Responsibilities:

• Prepare loss adjustment in accordance with the loss sharing procedures.

• Prepare and issue daily and weekly operational plans to be applied by the Control Engineers.

• Optimize and validate power exchange schedules through performing offline studies.

• Assist Senior OP Engineer in analyzing the proposed planned outages and coordinating and finalizing the Annual Maintenance Plan.

• Process the planned and unplanned outage requests.

• Prepare and issue switching sequence for outages and restorations as well as commissioning the new equipment.

• Coordinate maintenance activities between different sections of AM&M directorate and/or Member States.

• Monitor the planned outages and adherence to the annual maintenance plan.

• Prepare “Outage Statistical Data”.

• Assess the impact of outages of systems and equipment and identify implications on the Interconnector and Member States.

• Monitor and post analysis of system operations including incidents and major events through WAMS and DFR and prepare analysis reports.

• Monitor network losses and auxiliary consumption and report variations.

• Monitor through WAMS and report low frequency oscillations outside the recommended thresholds.

• Coordinate with Member States for short term operational planning issues.

• Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual statistical reports related to interconnected energy balance, energy exchanges from the DPSR.

• Review new project Scope of Work and Technical Specification and provide feedback.

• Review results of system studies done by Consultants, System Studies Engineer or other departments and provide feedback.

• Review consultant’s reports, provide feedback and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.

• Review draft procedures and provide feedback for improvement.

• Assist Senior OP Engineer to prepare Summer & Winter reports covering all aspects of operations to meet summer and winter demand requirements to enumerate the operating conditions/constraints, which need to be applied in these periods.

• Assist Senior OP Engineer to prepare contingency plan report incorporating the optimum system configuration and preventive/corrective actions and guidelines for real-time operation.

• Should be able to cover the essential duties of System Studies Engineer and Senior OP Engineer during their absence.

Experience:

8 years of relevant experience.

Education:

BS in Electrical Engineering
