The Bidding Engineer cum Estimation Engineer will be responsible for preparing competitive bids, tenders, and cost estimates for facility management projects. The role requires thorough analysis, technical expertise, and a keen understanding of market dynamics to deliver accurate and winning proposals. The ideal candidate will have experience in facility management services, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, housekeeping, and security systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Bidding and Tender Preparation:
Analyze tender documents, technical specifications, and client requirements to prepare comprehensive bids.
Conduct site visits and assessments to gather necessary information for accurate bidding.
Coordinate with internal teams (procurement, project management, operations, etc.) to gather relevant data and information for bid preparation.
Develop technical and commercial proposals, ensuring compliance with client specifications and industry standards.
Cost Estimation:
Prepare detailed cost estimates, including materials, labor, equipment, and overheads, based on project specifications.
Evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations to ensure competitive pricing and compliance with project requirements.
Maintain an updated database of costs and rates for various services, materials, and equipment.
Identify cost-saving opportunities and propose value engineering options.
Market Research and Analysis:
Conduct market research to identify potential projects and opportunities in the facility management sector.
Analyze competitor pricing strategies and market trends to develop competitive bids.
Stay updated on industry developments, regulations, and standards to ensure compliance and competitiveness.
Client Liaison and Negotiation:
Engage with clients to clarify project requirements, address queries, and provide additional information as needed.
Negotiate terms and conditions with clients and subcontractors to secure favorable agreements.
Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and post-bid clarifications as required.
Documentation and Reporting:
Prepare and maintain detailed documentation of bids, estimates, and supporting data for future reference and audits.
Generate regular reports on bid status, win/loss ratios, and market insights for management review.
Ensure all bidding and estimation activities are conducted in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil) or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in bidding, estimation, or tendering roles within the facility management industry.
Strong knowledge of facility management services, including MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing), HVAC, and general building maintenance.
Proficiency in estimation software and tools (e.g., AutoCAD, MS Excel, MS Project).
Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in calculations and documentation.
