Planning Engineer/Planner is responsible for the overall planning, scheduling, and monitoring of the project activities to ensure timely and efficient completion. The Planner coordinates with various departments, tracks project progress, and ensures alignment with project goals, timelines, and budget.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Project Planning and Scheduling:

o Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and timelines for all phases of the water treatment plant project, from engineering to procurement, construction, and commissioning.

o Use project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project) to create and update schedules.

o Identify key milestones and critical paths in the project, ensuring these are tracked and monitored.

2. Resource Allocation and Coordination:

o Allocate resources efficiently, including manpower, equipment, and materials, to ensure the project stays on schedule.

o Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to maintain project alignment and track resource requirements.

3. Progress Monitoring and Reporting:

o Track daily, weekly, and monthly progress of the project against the baseline schedule.

o Prepare and submit progress reports, S-curves, and variance analysis for internal and external stakeholders.

o Conduct regular site visits to monitor physical progress and address scheduling issues.

4. Risk Management and Mitigation:

o Identify potential delays or risks to the project timeline and propose corrective actions or mitigation strategies.

o Work closely with the project management team to resolve schedule conflicts and adjust project plans as needed.

5. Collaboration with Stakeholders:

o Liaise with project managers, engineers, procurement teams, subcontractors, and clients to ensure all parties are aligned with the project schedule.

o Facilitate coordination meetings and present updated project schedules to internal and external stakeholders.

6. Cost and Budget Control:

o Ensure that project timelines are aligned with the allocated budget and provide input on cost control and efficiency.

o Monitor the impact of scheduling changes on the overall project cost and advise the project team accordingly.

7. Compliance and Documentation:

o Ensure all planning and scheduling activities comply with industry standards and client requirements.

o Maintain accurate records of project schedules, reports, and communication for future reference and audit purposes.

Key Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, or related field.

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in planning and scheduling, preferably within the EPC industry, and particularly in water treatment plant projects.

• Proficiency in project management software like Primavera P6, MS Project, and other planning tools.

• Strong understanding of EPC project lifecycles, construction methodologies, and resource management.

• Excellent communication and coordination skills to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.

• Ability to analyze complex data and provide solutions for schedule optimization.
