Site Mechanical Engineer for Jubail-KSA.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and Interface with Contractor’s staff to determine and implement project requirements.

• Coordinate and interface site activities with other site engineers in your team

• Coordinate with Client’s site counterpart for any required inspections / site approvals

• Check site conditions for suitability before construction.

• Observe, check and ensure that work execution is in accordance with approved drawings, submittals and method statements.

• Plan ahead the construction activities with subcontractors to be in line with the project schedule and key dates.

• Prepare inspection reports and site records in due time.

• Check that material delivered are approved and properly stored.

• Ensure that the available manpower and material are sufficient to perform the works within the time frame set in the schedule

• Ensure that the Contractor is using the latest revision of approved drawings and technical submittals

• Observe and ensure adherence to site safety procedures. Act positively and participate in all health and safety issues at site.

• Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

Major Activities to Performed

• Supervise Contractors’ mechanical installation and testing activities, including, but not limited to installation of piping, supports, process equipment, building management system, HVAC, process and domestic water systems, firefighting, drainage, etc.

• Supervise mechanical Contractor to ensure coordination with the MEP works.

• Supervise and witness Contractors’ quality control inspections to ensure that the permanent works are constructed according to the contract, applicable codes, standards, approved drawings and specifications (i.e. fabrication, installation, pressure testing, equipment startup and commissioning).

• Review Contractor’s submitted shop and as-built drawings, materials submittals, tie-in procedures, project schedules, daily and weekly reports and work permits; and assists Resident Engineer in obtaining their approval and/or comments.

• Assist QC engineer to review Contractors’ mechanical quality assurance and quality control programs, inspection and test plans, installation, testing, and as-built procedures, for all mechanical systems.

• Arrange meetings between the Contractor and concerned departments / organizations to resolve interfacing problems during construction.

• Attend daily and weekly meetings with Contractors

• Assist Company’s commissioning team during process equipment commissioning activities

• Organize, coordinate, and conducts in conjunction with the concerned departments/organizations acceptance inspections and re-inspections of the completed permanent works until all deficiencies are corrected and signed off.

• Reviewing Contractors’ invoices for correctness of the invoiced quantities for the mechanical portion of the permanent works.

Experience and Qualifications

• B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

• Minimum 10 years of experience in MEP construction supervision

• Shop drawings and Material submittals reviews and approvals

• Appropriate mechanical code knowledge

• Construction sequencing & methodology

• Familiarity with International Building Code (IBC)

• Must be fluent and be able to effectively communicate in both spoken and written English.

• Knowledge of computers and basic software applications: MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point), read construction schedules (Primavera).

• AutoCAD is a benefit.

• Strong analytic capabilities and the ability to work independently.
