Job Summary:
The Procurement Officer - Data Entry is responsible for managing procurement data, maintaining accurate records, processing purchase orders, and ensuring smooth procurement operations in the construction sector. This role requires strong attention to detail, knowledge of procurement processes, and the ability to work efficiently with suppliers, vendors, and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Accurately enter and maintain procurement data, purchase orders, and invoices in the system.
Assist in sourcing and procurement of construction materials, equipment, and services as per project requirements.
Verify supplier quotations, compare pricing, and ensure compliance with procurement policies.
Maintain and update supplier/vendor databases, ensuring all information is up-to-date.
Track orders and deliveries, ensuring timely receipt of materials at construction sites.
Assist in preparing procurement reports, cost analyses,and supplier performance evaluations.
Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and site teams to align procurement with project timelines.
Handle documentation related to procurement, including contracts, LPOs, and material approvals.
Support audits and compliance checks by maintaining accurate and organized procurement records.
Identify and resolve discrepancies in purchase orders,invoices, and deliveries.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in procurement and data entry, preferably in the construction industry.
Strong knowledge of procurement procedures, vendor management, and material sourcing in construction.
Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and procurement software (ERP/SAP preferred).
Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and multitasking skills.
Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines n a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of local and international procurement regulations is a plus.
Work Environment:
Office-based with occasional visits to construction sites and supplier locations.
May require working beyond standard hours to meet urgent procurement needs.
