Job Description & Roles: Job Description: Environmental Engineer (Saudi Arabia)

Key Responsibilities:

1. Environmental Assessment & Planning:

o Conduct environmental impact assessments (EIA) for new projects, particularly in the energy, construction, and industrial sectors.

o Prepare reports on environmental risk, mitigation strategies, and compliance with local and international regulations.

2. Pollution Control & Waste Management:

o Develop and implement systems for controlling pollution (air, water, and soil) resulting from industrial processes, particularly in sectors like oil, gas, and petrochemicals.

o Design waste treatment processes for hazardous and non-hazardous waste, ensuring compliance with environmental laws.

3. Sustainable Design & Development:

o Work with project teams to design sustainable infrastructure and industrial systems that minimize environmental impact.

4. Regulatory Compliance & Monitoring:

o Ensure that all projects comply with Saudi Arabia’s environmental regulations and international standards such as ISO 14001.

o Monitor environmental conditions, pollution levels, and the impact of human activities, preparing data-driven recommendations for improvements.

5. Natural Resource Management:

o Develop strategies for sustainable use of natural resources, including water, energy, and land, especially in desert and arid regions.

o Collaborate with government bodies and private sectors to promote renewable energy, water conservation, and efficient waste management.

6. Environmental Remediation:

o Manage remediation projects for contaminated sites, such as those affected by oil spills, industrial pollution, and land degradation.

o Oversee the implementation of technologies to restore ecosystems and reduce environmental damage.

7. Renewable Energy Projects:

o Contribute to the design and implementation of renewable energy projects, particularly in solar and wind energy.

o Support Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 goals by promoting sustainability and reducing the country's dependence on fossil fuels.

8. Community Engagement & Education:

o Engage with local communities and industries to promote environmental awareness and sustainability initiatives.

o Lead training sessions on environmental policies, sustainability practices, and best environmental engineering methods.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.

• Proficiency in environmental management systems (EMS) and pollution control technologies.

• Knowledge of Saudi Arabia’s environmental laws and regulations.

• Familiarity with environmental impact assessment (EIA) processes and methodologies.

• Experience in the Power & Solar Energy sector, oil, gas, and petrochemical sectors is highly advantageous.

• Strong communication and project management skills, especially in multicultural and interdisciplinary teams.

• Fluency in Arabic and English is often required.

Preferred Experience:

• 5-10 years of experience in environmental engineering roles, preferably in Saudi Arabia
