We are seeking an experienced Lead SCADA Engineer with specialized expertise in irrigation systems to join our team. This role will involve designing, implementing, optimizing, and maintaining SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems for complex irrigation projects. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in integrating automation, control systems, and data management in water and irrigation infrastructure, ensuring efficient and sustainable water distribution for urban and agricultural applications.
Lead the design, configuration, and implementation of SCADA systems for irrigation systems, ensuring real-time monitoring and efficient management of water resources.
Develop, configure, and integrate SCADA systems to monitor and control critical processes in irrigation systems (flow management, pressure control, and distribution networks).
Oversee the integration of SCADA systems with other control systems, such as PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers), RTU (Remote Terminal Units), and remote telemetry systems to ensure seamless automation across all aspects of the water and irrigation infrastructure.
Implement advanced control strategies for irrigation management, including automated scheduling, flow regulation, pressure control, and real-time adjustments to optimize water usage and minimize waste.
Design and configure HMI (Human-Machine Interface) displays and dashboards to enable operators to monitor system performance and make real-time operational decisions.
Ensure that SCADA systems for irrigation are compliant with local regulations, international standards, and best practices for water management and sustainability.
Conduct system performance analysis and provide recommendations for optimization, focusing on energy efficiency, water conservation, and process improvements.
Lead troubleshooting and diagnostics for SCADA-related issues in irrigation systems, ensuring minimal downtime and high system reliability.
Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure seamless integration of SCADA systems into overall project infrastructure.
Manage the commissioning, testing, and validation of SCADA systems, ensuring systems meet the required performance standards and project specifications.
Mentor and support junior SCADA engineers and technicians, providing guidance on system design, implementation, and maintenance.
Qualification and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a related field.
A minimum of 8-10 years of experience in SCADA systems engineering, with at least 5 years of experience working on irrigation systems.
Proven experience in the design, implementation, and optimization of SCADA systems for water treatment and irrigation systems.
Expertise in PLC, RTU, and remote telemetry systems integration with SCADA for efficient automation and control.
Competencies
Certification in SCADA systems, automation, or water management technologies.
Experience with IoT integration in SCADA systems for smart irrigation and remote monitoring.
Familiarity with energy-efficient water management practices and systems for smart cities and large-scale irrigation projects.
Knowledge of advanced irrigation technologies (e.g., drip irrigation, automated weather-based scheduling, soil moisture sensors).
Skills
Familiarity with irrigation management systems, including automated irrigation scheduling, flow regulation, and pressure control for agricultural and landscape applications.
Proficient in SCADA software and platforms.
Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills, with the ability to address complex issues in water and irrigation SCADA systems.
Familiarity with sustainability practices and regulatory standards for water management, irrigation systems, and environmental impact.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively work with multidisciplinary teams and present complex technical information to clients and stakeholders.
Fluency in English; proficiency in Arabic is an advantage.
