Job Description

The senior electrical engineer will manage and oversee all electrical systems at the construction site, including low-current systems, power systems, lighting, small power systems, CCTV, and public address systems. They will ensure compliance with project specifications, local regulations, and quality standards while meeting project timelines.

Key Responsibilities

Site Supervision

Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of all electrical systems, including:

Low Current Systems: CCTV, public address, fire alarm, and access control systems.

Power Systems: Distribution boards, panel boards, transformers, and generators.

Lighting and Small Power Systems.

Ensure that all work complies with design specifications, safety standards, and project schedules.

Perform quality assurance checks on materials and installed systems.

Shop Drawing Review and Approvals

Review and verify electrical shop drawings to ensure compliance with project requirements and technical standards.

Submit drawings to consultants for approval and address any comments or modifications promptly.

Material Request and Management

Determine the materials required for electrical systems based on project plans and submit Material Request Forms (MRFs).

Ensure materials meet project specifications and obtain consultant approvals.

Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to manage deliveries and resolve any material issues.

Coordination and Communication

Act as the primary point of contact for electrical system issues between the consultant, contractors, and internal teams.

Attend site meetings to discuss progress, challenges, and technical solutions.

Collaborate with mechanical and civil teams to ensure seamless integration of all building systems.

Compliance and Reporting

Ensure all electrical works comply with Saudi building codes, safety standards, and international electrical regulations.

Prepare detailed progress reports for submission to project management and consultants.

Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (or equivalent).

Experience:

8–10 years of experience in electrical construction, with a focus on site engineering in the Gulf region.

Expertise in low-current systems, lighting and small power systems, and power distribution systems.

Technical Skills:

Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical shop drawings and designs.

Familiarity with electrical design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and ETAP.

Strong understanding of Saudi and international electrical codes and standards.

Key Competencies:

Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills for electrical site challenges.

Excellent communication skills for liaising with consultants and contractors.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure.

Certifications:

Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) membership is preferred or required.

Certification in low-current systems, power systems, or related fields is a plus.

Language:

Proficiency in English (mandatory); knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.
