QC Engineer Required in Saudi


Job description

The QC Engineer is responsible for ensuring that all operations, maintenance activities, and services provided by the company meet the highest quality standards, client specifications, and relevant industry regulations. This role involves developing, implementing, and monitoring quality control processes, conducting inspections, identifying non-conformities, and driving continuous improvement within the Operations & Maintenance (O&M) framework. The QC Engineer will play a critical role in maintaining the integrity and reliability of assets and services, contributing to client satisfaction and operational excellence within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.


Key Responsibilities:


Quality System Implementation:


Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of the Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with ISO 9001 standards and other relevant certifications.


Develop and update Quality Control Plans (QCPs), Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), and project-specific quality procedures for O&M activities.


Inspection & Testing:


Conduct regular inspections and audits of O&M activities, including but not limited to, preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, equipment overhauls, repairs, and service delivery processes.


Verify the quality of materials, equipment, and workmanship according to specifications, drawings, and industry standards.


Witness and review various tests (e.g., functional tests, performance tests, calibration) to ensure compliance.


Perform visual inspections, dimensional checks, and document review.


Documentation & Reporting:


Prepare detailed quality inspection reports, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and corrective and preventive action (CAPA) requests.


Maintain comprehensive records of all quality control activities, including test results, inspection logs, and certificates.


Report quality performance metrics to the Quality Manager and project teams.


Non-Conformance Management:


Identify, document, and track non-conformities, working with O&M teams to determine root causes and implement effective corrective actions.


Follow up on corrective actions to ensure their effectiveness and prevent recurrence.


Compliance & Standards:


Ensure all O&M activities comply with project specifications, client requirements, national and international standards (e.g., Saudi Aramco, SEC standards if applicable), industry best practices, and local regulations.


Stay updated with relevant codes, standards, and regulations pertaining to O&M in Saudi Arabia.


Vendor & Contractor Quality:


Participate in the qualification and auditing of vendors and subcontractors providing services or materials for O&M.


Monitor the quality performance of third-party service providers.


Training & Awareness:


Provide quality-related training and guidance to O&M personnel to foster a culture of quality.


Promote awareness of quality standards and procedures across the organization.


Continuous Improvement:


Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives, suggesting and implementing improvements to O&M processes and quality control procedures.


Conduct trend analysis of quality data to identify areas for improvement.


Client Interface:


Liaise with client representatives and third-party inspectors on quality-related matters.


Represent the company during client quality audits and inspections.


Qualifications:


Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Industrial, or equivalent technical field).


Experience: [Specify required experience level, e.g., 3-5 years of progressive experience as a QC Engineer, preferably within an Operations & Maintenance, Construction, or Industrial Services company.]


Technical Skills:


Strong understanding of Quality Management Systems (QMS) and ISO 9001 principles.


Proficiency in developing and interpreting QCPs, ITPs, and P&IDs.


Familiarity with various inspection techniques and tools.


Knowledge of relevant industry codes and standards (e.g., API, ASME, ASTM, NDT methods).


Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and quality management software.


Basic understanding of statistical process control is a plus.


Knowledge:


Solid understanding of O&M processes for industrial facilities, infrastructure, or specific asset types (e.g., utilities, HVAC, rotating equipment, electrical systems).


Awareness of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations in Saudi Arabia.


Familiarity with Saudi Aramco, SEC, SABIC, or other major client quality requirements if applicable to the company's projects.


Soft Skills:


Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.


Strong written and verbal communication skills in English (Arabic is a significant plus).


Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-cultural team.


High level of integrity and professional ethics.


Strong organizational and time management skills.


Ability to handle pressure and meet deadlines.


Other Requirements:


Valid Saudi driving license and willingness to travel to various project sites across Al Khobar and other regions in Saudi Arabia as required.


Physical ability to perform site inspections, which may include climbing, working at heights, or in confined spaces.
