We are seeking a skilled and experienced Site Engineer – Road Works to oversee and supervise all on-site activities related to road construction, from initial groundwork to final asphalt laying. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise, leadership qualities, and a deep understanding of roadwork construction processes and materials.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise all on-site activities related to road construction, including backfilling, subgrade preparation, sub-base, base course, and final asphalt laying.
Monitor the execution of works to ensure adherence to approved project drawings, technical specifications, and quality standards.
Coordinate with QA/QC teams to ensure testing and inspections are conducted as required.
Collaborate with surveyors to ensure proper levels and alignment throughout the construction phases.
Liaise with subcontractors and ensure smooth execution of tasks according to project schedules.
Prepare and maintain detailed daily site progress reports.
Ensure strict compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards on-site.
Identify and report any technical or site-related issues and propose practical solutions.
Attend site meetings and communicate effectively with the project management team.
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
Minimum 5 years of proven experience in road construction projects, particularly in supervising road layers and asphalt works.
Strong knowledge of construction materials and the composition of road layers.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, and project management tools is an advantage.
Ability to lead site teams and manage multiple activities efficiently under pressure.
