Position Summary
We are looking for a proficient Electro-Mechanical Engineer to design, develop, and manage the integration of electrical and mechanical systems for our diverse construction projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all electro-mechanical systems are designed for efficiency, reliability, and compliance with Saudi Arabian standards and regulations. You will play a critical role from the design phase through to commissioning, ensuring seamless coordination between electrical, mechanical, and civil works.
Key Responsibilities
Design and Planning:
Develop, review, and approve detailed designs, schematics, and drawings for integrated electro-mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, electrical power, lighting, and low-current systems.
Perform engineering calculations to validate system designs (e.g., load calculations, voltage drop, short-circuit analysis, pump/pipe sizing).
Select appropriate electro-mechanical equipment and materials, ensuring compatibility and cost-effectiveness.
Prepare technical specifications, BOQs (Bill of Quantities), and tender documents.
Project Management and Supervision:
Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of all electro-mechanical works on-site.
Coordinate with project managers, civil engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure integrated project execution.
Monitor work progress, ensuring adherence to project schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
Manage and supervise subcontractors and technicians, providing technical guidance and direction.
Compliance and Quality Assurance:
Ensure all electro-mechanical works comply with Saudi Arabian Building Codes, SBC (Saudi Building Code), SASO (Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization), and other relevant regulations.
Conduct regular site inspections and quality control checks to ensure workmanship and materials meet project specifications.
Implement and enforce strict health, safety, and environmental (HSE) protocols on-site.
Troubleshooting and Maintenance Support:
Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues related to electro-mechanical systems during construction and post-handover.
Provide technical support for the operation and maintenance of installed systems.
Prepare and submit detailed technical reports, as-built drawings, and project documentation.
Qualifications and Experience
Essential:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electro-Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
Experience: A minimum of 5-7 years of proven experience in electro-mechanical engineering, specifically within the construction or contracting industry in the Gulf region (Saudi Arabia experience is highly preferred).
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit MEP, ETAP, Dialux).
In-depth knowledge of HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Fighting, Electrical Distribution, and Building Management Systems (BMS).
Strong understanding of Saudi building codes and standards.
Language: Fluency in English is required. Proficiency in Arabic is a significant advantage.
License: Must be eligible for or hold a valid Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) membership.
Desired:
Professional Engineer (PE) certification or equivalent.
Experience with project management methodologies (PMP, PRINCE2) is a plus.
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively in a multicultural team and under pressure to meet deadlines.
