To prepare accurate cost estimates, material take-offs, and pricing for projects based on drawings, specifications, and client requirements. The Estimation Engineer ensures competitive and profitable bids by analyzing project scope, evaluating technical documents, and coordinating with relevant departments.
Key Responsibilities:
Review and analyze tender documents, drawings, and specifications to determine project scope and requirements.
Prepare detailed cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor services.
Develop BOQs (Bill of Quantities) and ensure all items are priced accurately.
Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations.
Evaluate and compare technical and commercial aspects of received quotations.
Identify potential cost-saving opportunities and project risks.
Coordinate with the design, procurement, and project management teams to ensure estimate accuracy.
Prepare technical and commercial proposals for submission to clients.
Participate in tender review meetings and provide input for pricing strategies.
Maintain a database of prices, quotations, and cost histories for future reference.
Assist the management team during project handover and budget preparation after award.
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Civil / Mechanical / Electrical or related discipline).
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in estimation, tendering, or cost engineering (preferably in [specify sector: construction, MEP, oil & gas, etc.]).
Strong knowledge of estimation methodologies, materials, and project execution processes.
Proficiency in MS Excel, AutoCAD, and estimation software (e.g., Candy, Primavera, or equivalent).
Excellent analytical and numerical skills.
