Our company is looking for an experienced Estimation Engineer for our Aluminum and Steel Metal Fabrication Factory.
Summary:
Prepare technical takeoffs, cost estimates and commercial bids for metal fabrication projects (aluminum and steel), evaluate subcontractor quotes, support pre-sales and client meetings, and develop standardized quotation templates and cost models.
Key Responsibilities:
- Read drawings, produce material takeoffs and labour-hour estimates.
- Prepare and submit commercial bids and follow-up documentation.
- Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors and site teams.
- Build costing templates (BOM, labour rates, machine-hour rates, overhead allocation).
- Post-job cost-to-actual reporting, improve estimating accuracy.
- Negotiate terms and payment schedules with clients and subs.
- Assist sales in qualifying tender opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering or similar.
- 3+ years in metal fabrication estimating (steel/aluminum) or contractor tendering.
- Proficiency with CAD reading, experience with takeoff/estimation spreadsheets or software.
- Strong commercial sense and negotiation skills.
- Transferable Iqama.
- Driving License and Ability to Travel.
KPIs:
- Win rate of submitted bids.
- Quote-to-order conversion time.
- Estimation accuracy (budget vs actual cost variance).
- Average gross margin per job.
