Mechanical Engineer – Design of Mechanical Systems & Equipment for Water Desalination Plants (RO & Thermal)
Location: Eastern Province, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (Dammam – Khobar – Jubail – Dhahran and surrounding areas)

Job Overview:
We are looking for a skilled Mechanical Engineer (Saudi national or resident) with strong hands-on experience in the design and development of mechanical systems and industrial equipment for seawater desalination plants — particularly Reverse Osmosis (RO) systems and, if possible, thermal desalination processes (MSF / MED).
The position is based in the Eastern Province with immediate availability required.
Key Responsibilities:
• Full mechanical design of desalination plant systems including: high-pressure pumps, Energy Recovery Devices (ERD), pre-treatment filtration systems, piping networks, heat exchangers, CIP cleaning systems, etc.
• Preparation of engineering drawings (P&ID, General Arrangement, Isometric Drawings) using software such as AutoCAD, Plant 3D, PDMS, or SolidWorks.
• Equipment selection and specification (pumps, valves, heat exchangers, compressors…) in compliance with major Saudi project standards (SWCC – NWC – Aramco where applicable).
• Review and approval of vendor / contractor mechanical designs and submittals.
• Participate in value engineering studies and optimization of energy efficiency & CAPEX/OPEX.
• Coordination with electrical, instrumentation, process, and environmental teams to ensure full system integration.
• Support site activities including installation supervision, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university.
• Minimum 5–10 years of direct design experience in seawater desalination plants or industrial water treatment projects (preference for candidates with Eastern Province project exposure).
• Strong practical knowledge of Reverse Osmosis (RO) systems and core mechanical components.
• Proficiency in engineering design software (AutoCAD – Plant 3D or equivalent) and hydraulic calculation tools.
• Good understanding of relevant international and Saudi codes & standards (Saudi Building Code – ASME – API – AWWA – SWCC specifications).
• Currently residing in the Eastern Province or immediately available to relocate.
• Excellent communication skills in Arabic and English.
