Mayar is seeking an experienced and dedicated Safety Officer to join its team in Riyadh. The successful candidate will play a key role in promoting a safe working environment, ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety regulations, and supporting the successful execution of construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and monitor Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies, procedures, and safety programs across construction sites
- Conduct regular site inspections and safety audits to identify hazards and ensure compliance with company standards and legal requirements
- Perform risk assessments and recommend preventive and corrective actions
- Monitor compliance with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) regulations and project-specific HSE requirements
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, preparing detailed reports and implementing corrective actions
- Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions, and HSE awareness training for employees and contractors
- Ensure the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and enforce safe work practices
- Maintain HSE documentation, inspection records, and regulatory compliance reports
- Coordinate emergency response procedures, evacuation drills, and safety campaigns
Qualifications and Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of proven experience as a Safety Officer
- Previous experience working on construction projects is mandatory
- Strong knowledge of:
- Occupational Health and Safety regulations
- Construction safety standards
- Risk Assessment
- Incident Investigation
- HSE compliance requirements
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and in a fast-paced construction environment
- Professional certifications such as NEBOSH, OSHA, or equivalent are considered an advantage
